The RAMM collection houses the remains of Czigane, a sledge dog that went on Scott’s 1910-1913 British Antarctic Terra Nova Expedition to the South Pole. The meteorological records from this expedition are important for today’s climate research. Taking these data as a point of departure, artists’ Bik Van der Pol’s video work unfolds the relationship between objects, touch and global trade. Commissioned by Exeter Culture with support from the Met Office, St David’s C of E Primary School and RAMM.

Winner of the 2014 Royal Over-Seas League Ensemble Competition, the Solem Quartet was formed in 2011 at the University of Manchester. The quartet enjoys a busy concert schedule and has performed in the Wigmore Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Bridgewater Hall as well as in the BBC Proms Extra, broadcast live on BBC Radio 3. The Quartet has recorded two CDs of 20th-century British music and in 2016/17 they were Park Lane Group Artists.
